Installation from system repository
ISPsystem software products 5.15.0 and later can be installed from the OS repository.
We recommend using this installation method.
Currently you can install only from rpm on Centos.
See the article Installation of ISPsystem software products from repository for more details
Installation using the installation script
Installation of ISPmanager consists of two steps: installation of COREmanager v.5 (the software kernel) from the OS command shell and installation of ISPmanager via the web-interface of COREmanager v.5.
Supported operating systems: Centos 6.4 and later, Debian 7, FreeBSD 9, Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 and later. Install the panel on a fresh server where only operating system without additional services is installed.
You can also install on the server with ISPmanager 4. In that case you can automatically migrate your data from ISPmanager 4 into ISPmanager 5.
Installing COREmanager v.5 (Unix-based operating systems)
Download the COREmanager installation script
Start the scriptsh install.5.sh
Select a version you want to install by typing the first letter and press ENTER. The following versions are available: release - stable version of a product; beta - the latest tested version, which includes all the improvements. Please, read the Alpha-version article If you want to install the alpha version of a software product. Currently ISPmanager can be installed only on COREmanager beta
Enter a full path to install COREmanager. The default path is «/usr/local/mgr5», if you do not want to change the path, press ENTER.
The script will download the archive with COREmanager distribution that fits your OS and unpack it into the specified location. If the update process was running on the server while downloading, the archive checksum will not match. The script will return the error «Invalid MD5 sum». Try again to start the scrip.
Once the installation is complete, the script will display the URL to access the COREmanager web-interface
You have successfully installed COREmanager!
Log in as root to the web-interface using the URL provided by the installation script. The Setup Wizard will start.
Select ISPmanager in the Software product field.
Select a desired version in the Version field. To learn a brief description, move your mouse cursor over the field name.
ATTENTION! We recommend installing the release version, or beta, in case it is missing. Do not install alpha unless you are an experienced user and you are going to test a feature that is not included into final release. The alpha be unstable and could cause crashes or data loss.
Selecting the Update the list of available packages check box will update the system packets (apt-get update or yum update). Otherwise, the packets won't be updated.
Click Next to proceed. The Wizard will update the packet cache and proceed to the second step.
If you do not have an active license or you failed to activate it automatically, you will be prompted to activate your license. If you have the activation key, select the corresponding check box. If not, select "Buy the license" to learn how to do so. Click Activate in both cases to proceed. Consult the Software licensing policy article for more details.
If ISPmanager 4 is already installed on the server, the installer will ask you to import data from ISPmanager 4 into ISPmanager 5.
- If you want to import, select the check box "Import data from ISPmanager 4". The software product installed on the server will be updated, and all the data from ISPmanager 4 will be converted. In case of custom configuration of Apache, Named, etc., those settings will be lost, because while converting data, the configuration files of those services will be cleared and reconfigured.
- If you do not select the check box "Import data from ISPmanager 4", all the data will be lost.
ATTENTION! If you are installing ISPmanager 5 beta, we do not recommend that you import the data. This function has not been properly tested and may cause data lose. The import function will be fully implemented once ISPmanager 5 is released.
- The software recommended by developers will be installed.
- Minimal installation - only required components will be installed.
- Custom installation allows you to select all services available for installation.
Click Next. The Setup Wizard will proceed to the next step.
Note. The Installation type step will be skipped, if ISPmanager 4 is already installed on the server.
Clicking Finish will create a background task to install ISPmanager. You can monitor the current status of the task in "Server Statistics"-> Background tasks. If server has been successfully installed, in "System" -> Software products the "In progress" status will change into «installed» If the installation failed, contact your technical support.
Once you have installed the panel, go to the Software products module and click the "Go" icon
The ISPmanager Dashboard will open. You will log in with root credentials. To access ISPmanager follow the URL provided by the installation script changing /core into /ispmgr and using the root credentials.
